For decades Tattoo shops have had a certain aesthetic. We all know the stereotype; dark lighting, nude pinups hung about, harsh music. I wanted Raptor Arts to be so far removed from that outdated norm. I actually wanted a shop that an 80 year old woman could accidently walk in and not know what kind of business establishment she was in but still feel welcome. I wanted bright, lively, clean, sophisticated. Something that felt right, like you were at home in a way. I as well, have a slight obsession, with the Victorian era so I thought if I merged those two feelings and mixed a little pizazz from the tattoo world, it would make for a really comfortable, unique, but most importantly memorable atmosphere.

After working in the industry for as many years as I had, and been inside different shop layouts, I got the opportunity to study the inner workings…and unworkings…that different studios faced. I gathered from this, without a doubt, that I wanted to create a space that gave artists their own environment to work in within my shop. once I found the perfect building and space; I knew my artists would be able to thrive in private suites surrounded by everything they love and do what that makes their hearts happy and create the best tattoo experiences for themselves and their clients alike. I knew if I “built it” the right team of individuals would fill the space and love Raptor for what I envisioned. I’m finally feeling fortunate enough to say; that has indeed happened and I’m eager to get all of you into their chairs to meet them and find the common love between us all!
